Weather & Climate:In general, the climate in the Maremma is quite moderate. It can be said that along the coast and in the valleys it is milder (and hotter in the summer) than in the hills and, of course, the mountains where there is a continental climate with frequent rainfall. Summers are basically dry and usually hot, i.e. very hot in the valleys. Spring and autumn can be rainy, but also offer mild and sunny days. Cold nights can be expected in the winter (sometimes with frost), but also sunny days or mild temperatures and rain are common. Here are some average temperatures
Travel times:The most popular times to travel are early to late summer. Autumn and winter are more of an insider tip. The heat can be overwhelming during the summer months, especially in the cities. Over the past years, the Maremma has become a popular destination for families (not just to the sea!), who usually travel in the summer months.
