The impressive stately home built of stone“„Il Poggiarello“ is in the country surrounded by untouched nature, near the village Sticciano Scalo. The little village Sticciano Scalo belongs to the community of Roccastrada, province Grosseto. The idyllic landscape in the south of Tuscany is also known as the ”Maremma„.

The glorious estate belongs to a farm with nearly 120 hectares property, olive trees, sunflowers, fields of asparagus, cork oaks and eucalyptus trees, in the near future there are plans to culture vineyards. In addition there are cows and some horses which graze openly in the hunting-ground around.

The foundation walls of the former large farm house were built in the 18th century, the original structures were maintained and carefully restored . In ”Il Poggiarello” there are now 10 spacious flats which were furnished very tastefully in a traditional Tuscan style. A large room on the ground floor is meant for a lounge for common use furnished with comfortable seats and tables, a TV and also a fireplace.

The large piece of real estate invites for relaxing, walking, playing and strolling. You can spend your holiday in a really relaxing atmosphere , not least because of the kind landlords, who speak English, and look after their guests themselves.

It is an ideal starting point for tours to several sites of cultural interest (Siena, San Gimignano, Fierenze; Volterra, Pisa or Rome), such as Etruscan villages (Roselle, Populonia, Vetulonia), hot springs (Saturnia, Petriolo, Calidario), islands are close-by (Elba, Giglio, Giannutri, Monte Argentario), the Nature Park of the Maremma, (breeding of turtles and storks ”Carapax“), the world famous Garden of Tarots of the artist Niki de Saint Phalle and the Gallery of Daniel Spoerri or the famous vineyards growing Chianti, Montecucco, Brunnello and Monteregio.

The next possibilities for shopping are in the Ribolla (8 km west), Roccastrada (8 km east) or Sticciano Scalo (5 km south). The nearest sandy beach- Castiglione della Pescaia - is approx. 35 km southwest. Other beautiful beaches nearby are Punta Ala, Principina a Mare , Marina di Grosseto, Marina di Alberese, Cala Violina or Follonica.
